The Women in Economic and Community Development is a committee within the statewide professional association that works to advance economic development efforts in Mississippi, the Mississippi Economic Development Council, Inc.
The Women in Economic and Community Development Committee serves as the catalyst for women’s Resources, Inspiration, Support, and Empowerment through education in the economic and community development profession.
This initiative began 4 years ago when MEDC recognized its membership make-up grew to over 45% female professionals. Since then, we have served and connected over 300 women professionals working to create jobs and increase the quality of life in their communities.
NEXT PHASE
As we embark on our 5th year, we are reflecting on our purpose and what needs are on the horizon. True to what drives us daily in our professional careers, is what we are expanding our goals to include. Daily we create jobs and connect people to those career paths. We are now challenging ourselves to create an opportunity to ELEVATE female professionals in all industries by fostering an environment where you an thrive in your career while leading your company or community toward continued growth.
