Workshops announced for Gulf Coast Restoration Fund application portal

Jackson, Miss. (June 13, 2025) – Mississippi Development Authority is organizing a series of workshops to help guide communities and individuals through the Gulf Coast Restoration Fund program grant application process. The workshops aim to empower local stakeholders and boost their restoration efforts along the Gulf Coast.

 

The GCRF application portal is now open and will accept applications through Friday, August 1, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. The application portal can be accessed at the following address: https://gcrf.mississippi.org/login.aspx.

 

The workshops, which will focus on the GCRF application portal, will offer attendees an opportunity to learn about key aspects of and updates to the grant application process. With the GCRF being a significant funding source for coastal restoration projects, these workshops hold immense value for those seeking financial support for economic development projects.

 

“The GCRF program continues to be a powerful tool for strengthening our coastal communities by supporting projects that restore, enhance and grow the region’s economy,” said MDA Executive Director Bill Cork. “We invite individuals and organizations to attend one of the upcoming sessions to learn how they can turn great ideas into impactful projects through this funding opportunity.”

 

The in-person workshops will be held at various locations across the Gulf Coast, ensuring accessibility for interested parties in the region. The following is the schedule for the workshops: 

 

  • Monday, June 23, 2 p.m. – Jackson County Board of Supervisors Meeting Room – 2915 Canty St., Pascagoula, MS 39567

 

  • Tuesday, June 24, 9 a.m. – Knight Nonprofit Center – 11975 Seaway Rd., Gulfport MS 39503
    • Immediately following the June 24 meeting, MDA representatives will be available to answer questions about the implementation and compliance requirements of GCRF-funded projects.

 

  • Wednesday, June 25, 9 a.m. – George County Board of Supervisors Meeting Room – 329 Ratliff St., Lucedale, MS 39452

 

  • Wednesday, June 25, 2 p.m. – Stone County Economic Development Partnership – 115 E Hatten Ave., Wiggins, MS 39577

 

  • Thursday, June 26, 9 a.m. – Hancock County Port and Harbor Commission, Multipurpose Room – 7250 Stennis Airport Rd., Kiln, MS 39556

 

  • Thursday, June 26, 2 p.m. – Pearl River Community College Cafeteria – 101 Highway 11 N, Poplarville, MS 39470

 

The workshops will cover essential topics related to the GCRF application portal, including updates on the 2026 funding year and noteworthy changes to the application process. Participants will have the opportunity to engage with experts, ask questions and gain valuable insights that can help refine their project proposals.
