A few days following the devastating EF4 tornado that ripped through the Pine Belt region in February, Hattiesburg received some good news with the announcement by Governor Phil Bryant that General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) would be opening a new facility in the city.

To be located in the Cloverleaf Center, GDIT’s Federal Student Aid Information Center will process applications and eligibility for more than $100 billion in federal student assistance for higher education. Workers will also aid the public in completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. The 17,750-square-foot facility is expected to bring 225 new jobs to the area by summer, and increase to 250 jobs by spring 2014.

A University of Southern Mississippi graduate, Bryant was pleased to welcome GDIT to Hattiesburg.
