At AccelerateMS, we believe that a thriving workforce is the foundation of a strong economy. Our partnership with the Mississippi Economic Development Council strengthens our ability to align training and talent development with the evolving industry needs, ensuring Mississippi’s workforce is prepared for the opportunities of tomorrow.
Tourism is economic development, and it is often the front door to broader investment and growth. In Mississippi, every dollar spent by a visitor supports small businesses, creates jobs, and generates critical tax revenue. Beyond the numbers, tourism shapes perception. It’s how we tell our story to the world and to our own citizens. The partnership between the Mississippi Tourism Association and the Mississippi Economic Development Council strengthens our shared mission to build a brighter, more prosperous Mississippi. By aligning our efforts to tell Mississippi’s story, we multiply our impact by attracting more visitors, growing businesses, and enhancing quality of life. We are not just promoting destinations, we are helping to build thriving communities where people want to live, work, visit and invest, which fuels revitalization and development.
Danielle Morgan, Executive Director, Mississippi Tourism Association
True, sustainable community revitalization cannot be achieved through one single measure, but rather requires key partnerships and a long-term, holistic approach. To that end, each community under the Mississippi Main Street Association (MMSA) adheres to a Four Point approach, which includes considerations of Economic Vitality as a contributing factor to quality of place. With the Mississippi Economic Development Council (MEDC) serving as the voice for economic development and chamber stakeholders and professionals across our state, there is considerable missional overlap between our respective organizations. MMSA is thrilled to work in tandem with MEDC to make Mississippi's cities, towns, and state a better place to live, work, and play!
Economic Development Week is a powerful reminder of what collaboration can achieve. Our partnership with the Mississippi Economic Development Council reflects Cooperative Energy’s commitment to growing stronger, more resilient communities across Mississippi. Together, we're empowering local economies, supporting job creation, and driving long-term prosperity for our state.
The collaboration between TVA and MEDC furthers our shared commitment to fostering economic growth and enhancing the quality of life for the communities we serve. Together, we leverage resources and expertise to create and support development opportunities for the region.
