Another Jackson based business is moving. Albriton’s Jewelers has announced plans to relocate its operations. Bucking the growing trend of suburban flight, however, the legacy business is renewing its commitment to the capitol city.

The iconic Mississippi jewelry company recently acquired a land parcel at 4460 Old Canton Road and revealed plans for a new north Jackson store. The facility will provide over 4500 square feet for retail space and administration offices.

“Since my grandfather opened our first store in 1920 downtown on Capitol Street, we’ve maintained a continual presence in Jackson. This is our home, and that’s important to us,” stated John Albriton. As the business grew, the downtown facility was eventually merged with the opening of its current Highland Village location in 1972.

“We’ve enjoyed a tremendous business relationship with Highland Village. Through the years we’ve grown, renovated, grown and renovated even more. Eventually we just needed our own space, and this was the perfect opportunity,” the third generation owner exclaimed. In making the announcement, Albriton said customers should expect dramatic changes.

The new facility will mirror national mall trends directed toward pedestrian traffic, drive-up access and interactive, in-store visual displays. Cameron Albriton, fourth generation store manager, said personal interaction and service would continue to drive customer relationships. “Our goal is to provide an unparalleled local shopping experience for premium, competitively priced jewelry with state of art product displays,” he added.

The new store is scheduled for an early 2018 grand opening.
