Mississippi Economic Development Council, Inc. (MEDC) Scholarship Program

MEDC Course Scholarship Program

Tuition scholarships are being accepted for professional development courses in 2018.

We are very proud to announce the list of approved courses includes; Chamber Institute, Community Development Institute, Economic Development Institute, the True South Economic Development Course, and the National Development Council Economic Development courses.  New to the scholarship course list this year is the Advanced Economic Development Leadership Program and select IEDC courses.  This is thanks to the generous contributions of Cooperative Energy, Entergy Mississippi, Mississippi Power Company, Mississippi Development Authority, Tennesse Valley Authority, and MEDC.

The below table is a listing of all of the training events your scholarship committee has selected as important for members of MEDC to attend in order to improve professional capability.

Please download the application form below to apply for a tuition scholarship.  You must have a current individual MEDC membership in order to apply and to receive scholarship reimburesement.  Please understand that funds may not be sufficient to award scholarships to all who apply.  Priority will be given to individuals who are newer to the economic/community development field, who demonstrate a need for the requested training, who are willing to make the commitment to participate, and who require financial assistance in order to attend.  A board member or superior must indicate their support of your participation in the course.

Please do not submit more than one application per person.  There may, however, be more than one application submitted per organization.

Continued professional training is vital for successful community and economic development in Mississippi.  If you know of others who are not members but could benefit from scholarship assistance, encourage them to join our association and apply.  As a result, our organization will grow and the capabilities of our membership will improve.
