The University of Alabama is leading a multi-university program for economic development leaders.

The university is joined by Clemson University, the University of Southern Mississippi and Texas Christian University to form the Advanced Economic Development Leadership program.

The two-week class will begin with a one-week session in February and another in August.

The inaugural class will be attended by 47 mid- and senior-level professionals from across the country.

“Each participant will return to their communities better prepared to create quality jobs, enhance local revenues and engage the community in active, broad-based economic development,” said Neal Wade, director of UA's Economic Development Academy. “The program targeted the best and brightest economic development professionals from across the country and, with this first class, we certainly achieved our objective.”

There is a waiting list for the 2019 class.
