Mississippi companies interested in initiating or expanding trade with business prospects Dubai and Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates and Jordan in the Middle East are invited to join a Mississippi delegation on a business development mission March 26-30, 2017.

“The business development trip to Dubai and Jordan is a gateway for Mississippi businesses in a number of industries to gain access to these two Middle Eastern markets,” said Mississippi Development Authority Executive Director Glenn McCullough, Jr. “We encourage those interested in beginning or expanding trade in the Middle East to participate in this important business development mission.”

Known as one of the most vibrant cities in the world, Dubai serves as the regional hub for the Middle East, Europe and Asia. A third of the world’s population is within a four-hour flight of Dubai. Seventy percent is within an eight-hour flight of the city.

The trip is open to all Mississippi-based companies with trade potential in Dubai and Jordan. Lucrative prospects and sectors in the two markets are: aerospace, aviation, communications, construction, defense, environmental, medical, oil and gas, safety and security and specialty foods and water.

MDA works with qualified potential buyers, agents, distributors and joint venture partners from Dubai and Jordan prior to the business development mission. Before, during and after the trip, MDA works with Mississippi companies to capitalize on opportunities from the development mission.

Grant assistance is available to eligible businesses to defray costs associated with participation. Funded by the U.S. Small Business Administration, the Mississippi State Trade Expansion Program reimburses eligible businesses up to 50 percent of travel costs, including airfare, lodging and per diem. Additional services include scheduled appointments with qualified buyers covered at 75 percent and free pre-mission market research and business potential assessment.
